What should motivate photographers (even on Mondays) is the ultimate goal: to tell a story using a single photo.
This can be simple, such as the expression a child’s face at Christmastime.
However, when stories get more complex, so does the job of the photographer. Imagine trying to sum up the most recent presidential election using a single photograph…
So no matter what your story is for the minute, the day, the week, try to portray it as best as you can. It can be tempting to take an easy, expected shot and call it a day, but it’s always better to push yourself.
Because that story is most definitely worth telling.
